11059890_824696937623068_3908460658681721609_nUK starlet Jess Glynne already has a couple hits on her hands with multiple top ten and #1 hits across the pond, but US audiences would probably only recognize her as the soulful voice behind last year’s double platinum hit “Rather Be, ” one of the more innovative dance tracks of last year created by Clean Bandit.

“Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself” is the fourth official solo single from Glynne’s debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, and furthers the same sound the singer has established. The “Hold My Hand” singer’s songwriting skills shine with lyrics detailing stories of how she “came here with a broken heart that no one else could see” until the production lifts up and the sun breaks through the clouds. Her CeCe Peniston-like voice commands a piano-led 90’s house sound combined with breakbeat percussion produced by TMS, a production team that’s worked with the likes of UK darlings Ella Henderson and Little Mix, to say the least.

“Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself” will be released on August 14th, although only across the pond unfortunately. Not to worry, however, US audiences will be able to listen to Jess Glynne’s full debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, soon enough when it’s released here on November 11th, so be sure to check her out on iTunes when the time comes. Until then, the songstress will be working hard on the road promoting on her North American Tour, so be sure to check out the dates below.
