Spokane, Washington based band Cathedral Pearls is hard at work in the studio on their upcoming debut album, but they recently gave listeners a glimpse of what is to come with their title track “Etchings.”
The band, which gained steady momentum with three well-received EPs, is the brainchild of two couples: Karli and Caleb Ingersoll and Max and Carrie Harnishfeger. It originally began as an experiment, with the groupings merging existing projects, and quickly took on a life of its own.
“Etchings” is both simple and dynamic – a song that is immediately pleasing while requiring patience to truly get its full effect. The dual male/female vocal parts are light and enchanting while the music behind them dances and swirls until it reaches its peak. If the rest of the album is anything like this, listeners can expect great things from Cathedral Pearls.
Etchings will be available in full on August 21.
