The band is comprised of singer, guitarist, and songwriter Maryn Jones, guitarist Nick Harris, bassist Amanda Bartley, and drummer Jesse Withers and the definitely are a musical tour de force. They self describe as, “punks making pop music in Columbus, Ohio” never have truer words been spoken. The beauty of the Internet and the twenty first century is the lack of necessity that is packing up your things and moving away to Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York to make it making music.

All Dogs has a definite Internet presence and a following of die hard fans to boot. They have a heavily laden tour schedule following the release of Kicking Every Day on August 28th. Jones and the crew have mastered the creation of music that is oozing earnestness and anxiety. Jones’s singing over the heavy thrashing of the guitars strummed by her, and Nick Harris, is punk eloquence. All Dogs – Kicking Every Day is the quintessential end of summer beginning of September soundtrack. Throughout the entire album the simplicity of lyrics seems apparent until you pay attention to the context of those simple lyrics in the full spectrum of each song. With each song off this album you continue to cruise towards the finish line at the end of summer and the beginning of fall. There is sheer power and emotion being evoked from beginning to end. I found that the juxtaposition of the final song The Garden is the absolute perfect denouement to the angst, affection, fervor and passion that was Kicking Every Day. There are few things I enjoy in an album than the switching of styles and a soul filled, acoustic masterpiece to cap off the experience. When All Dogs inevitably get more popular than challah bread at the Sabbath relish the time when you knew of this awe inspiring band first. Albeit however, they have been around for a few years, they formed in 2012. If and when they come to your city with their what seems like endless touring be sure to cop a ticket or two and take your friends. I can only imagine what seeing this power pop/punk powerhouse live is like.
