Live Review & Photos: The Prodigy at Staples Center

Electronic rock group The Prodigy performed at the sold out Staples center supporting Linkin Park’s Ten Thousand Suns tour. As strobe lights and fog machines covered the stage, Prodigy ignited the twenty thousand screaming fans in attendance. MC’s Maxim and Keith Flint brought everyone to their feet as they began their set list with their worldwide hit Breathe.

Currently supporting their 2009 release Invaders Must Die, the English group energized the pit as fans responded to the screams “Psychosomatic, addict insane!” Maxim bounced across stage while running wild with a microphone in hand and Flint danced in the background adding vocals. The evening continued with Omen, the first single from their latest release. Liam Howlett also known as Master H added the hardcore techno and industrial beats while standing behind the DJ set.

Prodigy completely energized the Los Angeles audience as they continued delivering one hit after another with Poison and Firestarter. Flint taunted the crowd at every opportunity while standing on speakers and posing in front of fans. Their eleven song set list ended with the mega hit Smack My Bitch Up which provided enough momentum to introduce headliners Linkin Park to the home crowd. The Prodigy heads back to Europe continuing their world tour after fulfilling their North American dates.
