Hip-hop group House of Pain performed at the House of Blues in Hollywood last Friday night. Since their first live appearance in over a decade at last summer’s second annual music festival Epicenter, the self-proclaimed Irish American hooligans continued the comeback celebration by embarking on a country tour. Members Everlast and Danny Boy bounced across the stage as everyone cheered with excitement. Everlast began the night by thanking the audience for the warm support and stated St. Patrick’s Day was still fresh in his mind, as he held a shot glass toasting with the crowd. Due to Nate Dogg’s recent passing, they performed “The Next Episode” off Dr. Dre’s Chronic 2001 album paying tribute to a fallen hip-hop legend.
Everlast was joined by a live band adding a raw and uncut sound to their set. Although DJ Lethal remains a member of the group, he was absent due to prior duties with Limp Bizkit. The night included fan favorite songs “Top O’ The Morning To Ya’, Who’s The Man” and “What It’s Like” from Everlast’s solo record. Before signing off and thanking the crowd for a wonderful night, they performed their anthem Jump Around, which resulted in complete chaos as everyone jumped like it was 1992.
