Good Charlotte stopped by the House of Blues in Hollywood promoting their latest album release Cardiology last fall. Fans anxiously waited while being packed like sardines in the sold out venue. As they took the stage, piercing screams erupted across the floor as the audience pressed towards the barricades.
Lead singer Joel Madden rushed towards the edge the stage with a microphone wrapped tightly around his hand and kicked off the set list with “The Anthem” off their second album. The evening quickly became a sing along event as fans vigorously shouted every word. Twin brother Benji Madden provided back up vocals while playing guitar as they continued with “Girls and Boys.” Between songs, they thanked fans for their loyal support over the past decade, while sharing a story about meeting an eleven-year-old girl in attendance that celebrated her first concert.
As the show progressed, Benji introduced an acoustic guitar and sang a soothing ballad dedicated to fallen artists they have known over the years. They played four songs off their latest release, “Silver Screen Romance, Like It’s Her Birthday, Last Night” and “Sex On The Radio.” Fans screamed “One More Song” as the band headed backstage for a break, then reappeared to an overwhelming acclaim as they closed the night with their hit single “Lifestyles of The Rich And Famous.”
After finishing their North American dates in Southern California, Good Charlotte continues their world tour in the Philippines, Australia and Europe. Cardiology is available now.
