Cathedrals reveal the video for their single “Try To Fight.” The video was choreographed by Denna Thomsen (who worked on Sia’s “Elastic Heart”) and stars dancer/model/actress Kylie Shea and Nick Baga (La La Land, Grease! Live, Dancing With the Stars). A throwback to the days of Flash Dance and Dirty Dancing, “Try To Fight” was directed by Brodie’s longtime childhood friend Jesse Fleece whose credits include Paul McCartney, Lana del Rey and Arcade Fire.
Over the last 12 months Cathedrals wrote and recorded a new batch of tracks that they have been releasing since April. Most recently they shared “Autumn Split” and before that the blissed out “With You” of which Idolator said is a “warm embrace of a pop song.” May saw the band reveal “Don’t Act Like A Stranger” and Billboard called it “triumphant” and Earmilk labeled it “awe-inspiring.” Kicking off this 2017 string of new music was the single for today’s video.
Cathedrals will be playing on September 20 as part of “Give a Home,” a collaboration between Amnesty International and Sofar Sounds in which 1000 musicians will play in living rooms across the globe. The coverts will be live-streamed with support from Vice and Facebook Live.
