Making their fourth stop of ‘Evolve’ world tour, Las Vegas natives Imagine Dragons performed at the Hollywood Bowl Sunday night before a capacity crowd. Lead by singer Dan Reynolds, the band began the night with ‘I Don’t Know Why.’ Fans adorned the Hollywood Bowl by wearing a crown of bright tungsten lights on their heads, providing a warm ambiance in the venue. Continuing the setlist, ‘It’s Time’ provided the tone of the evening as Reynolds began interacting with the audience about recent tensions surrounding daily life. “Skin color, religion, and political views should not separate us as people” shared Reynolds as he expressed his frustration with the media and hoped for equality for all.

Having played numerous times in Los Angeles, the band expressed their joy performing at the Hollywood Bowl. Early in their career, they would frequently play at the Viper Room, Roxy and now defunct Cat Club. Reynolds shared that dreams do come true and encouraged everyone present to continue their travels as they conquered another musical milestone. Throughout the evening, the band covered topics of injustices in the world, politics and revealed personal struggles with the crowd. Before performing ‘Demons,’ Reynolds shared personal experiences while battling depression. Attempting to spread awareness about mental illness and depression, he encouraged everyone listening to breed art and happiness through their personal struggles as everyone stood on their feet in approval.

Shifting locations on stage, the band appeared past the terrace boxes towards the back of the venue as they incorporated wooden instruments during ‘Dream.’ The slower paced songs resulted in a sea of cell phones illuminating the Hollywood Bowl as the moody tunes of ‘Bleeding Out’ continued the side stage concert. After a brief moment, the band returned to the main stage performing their signature radio hits ‘Thunder’ and ‘I Bet My Life’ before receiving one of the loudest crowd participations during ‘Radioactive.’ Reynolds’s informed the crowd that an encore was scheduled to take place but instead decided to continue the momentum and performed two additional tracks with the final song being ‘Believer.’

The two-hour performance concluded with a confetti shower across the crowd as the band thanked everyone in attendance for their support and dedication. Imagine Dragons’ performance was uplifting, heartfelt and emotional. Their North American tour concludes in November as they return to southern California November 16th with a performance at the Honda Center.
