Life on the road has its ups and downs. Canadian trio Scenic Route to Alaska have personally experienced this during the past year. Since Trevor Mann (singer and guitarist), Murray Wood (bass), and Shea Connor (drums), all childhood friends, released their third LP Long Walk Home in September 2016, the band spent multiple months touring throughout Europe and Canada.

Despite the hectic life on the road, Scenic Route to Alaska wasted no time upon returning to Alberta, Canada and began crafting a new LP, currently untitled. “Slow Down,” their latest single, will be on the album projected for an early 2018 release.

“Slow Down” looks back at the flurry of movement while on tour, away from home, and letting go of all those unestablished relationships. Crisp rhythms capture the quick tempo of traveling on tour, and Mann’s unabashed lyrics narrate the thought process of being on the move when “everybody’s telling [them] to stop, take a breath and slow down.”
